Peghead Nation’s Old-Time Fiddle instructor Bruce Molsky brought Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, his trio with guitarist Stash Wyslouch and banjo player Allison de Groot, to Grass Valley, California, to play at the California Bluegrass Association’s 43rd Annual Father’s Day Festival. During their Friday-night set, Molsky’s Mountain Drifters played the Charlie Monroe song “Rosa Lee McFall,” which gained wide popularity when the Grateful Dead recorded a version on their 1970 album Reckoning.
